  • Question:
    My game is slow and stutters a lot since I'm using ModAPI.
    Answer:
    The spawner mod causes errors currently. Just deactivate it and the game should run as smooth as before. If it still doesnt work you can browse to the "mods/TheForest" folder within the ModAPI folder and remove the Spawner Mod completly. It should work now!

  • Question:
    The download page states that my game version is not supported.
    Answer:
    There is the possibility that the download page wasn't updated but the ModAPI is already working. Try it!

  • Question:
    The ModAPI tells me that it can verify my game version
    Answer:
    Either the newest game version is not supported yet or you have deactivated the automatic update of the version table. Please let the ModAPI check the integrity of your game files through steam or check the manually. To do so right-click on the game and select "Properties". Now click on "Local files" and click on "Check integrity of game files".

  • Question:
    I checked the game files integrity but the ModAPI keeps telling me that my game version is not correct.
    Answer:
    Either you have deactivated the automatic update of the version table or the ModAPI is not functional for the newest version yet. Just stay tuned for an update!

  • Question:
    My ModAPI/Mod download doesnt work correctly.
    Answer:
    Some users report that downloading the ModAPI or a mod with firefox causes problems. Just use another browser to download and you're good to go.

  • Question:
    My ModAPI crashes and isn't responding.
    Answer:
    There are many possibilities for this error. The most common one is that you're missing the .NET 4.6 Framework. You can download it from the microsoft website here: microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=48130

  • Question:
    Why does x/y not work in multiplayer?
    Answer:
    ModAPI provides cheat functionality for singleplayer only and has been developed for that without exception. We do not promote multiplayer usage and using it in such is at your very own risk while we do not take liability for your actions or provide support at all.

  • Question:
    Where can I download additional mods?
    Answer:
    You can find the mod section in the page navigation on the top.

  • Question:
    I don't see any mods listed in the Mods menu
    Answer:
    Activate all languages in your profile.

  • Question:
    How do I install mods?
    Answer:
    Put the downloaded .mod file into directory "mods/TheForest" in ModAPI path.

  • Question:
    Where do I find log files?
    Answer:
    Inside the folder "logs" in ModAPI path.

  • Frage:
    When I try to login in the ModAPI application the loading icon rotates endlessly

    We are aware of that, fixing it although has not been given a priority since a missing login session has no (negative) impact on application functionality.

  • Frage:
    Files are missing after extracting ZIP download and messages show errors with files missing
    Antwort:
    Solution: Configure your operating system appropriately, deactivate/adjust security software. Not a ModAPI issue at all!

  • Question:
    You certainly do have some known bugs, right...?
    Answer:

  • Question:
    I have a problem which is not listed in the FAQ.
    Answer:
    Please go to the forums and open a thread there which explains your problem as good as possible. Dont comment news posts with your problem. The comments section of news are for commenting news. (obviously)

    Sadly. My crystal ball is in repair right now. Until I get it back you can go to the forums and search for help there.
